Terms and Conditions

The terms that govern the in-home care services Ashbard Global Agency provides to families across Calgary, Edmonton and Alberta.

1. About these terms

These Terms and Conditions set out the agreement between Ashbard Global Agency ("Ashbard", "we", "us") and the client or responsible party ("you") who arranges in-home care services on behalf of the person receiving care. By requesting an assessment, scheduling a visit, or accepting any service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Our services

Ashbard provides non-medical personal support services, including personal care, companionship, homemaking, respite, medication reminders, dementia support, palliative support and recovery assistance. The exact scope, schedule and frequency of care for each client is set out in a written care plan agreed before services begin.

3. Assessments and care plans

Every engagement begins with a free in-home assessment. The resulting care plan describes the agreed services, hours, pricing and any specific instructions. Either party may request a review of the care plan at any time; changes take effect only once confirmed in writing by Ashbard and the responsible party.

4. Scheduling and cancellations

Scheduled visits are confirmed in advance. If you need to cancel or reschedule a visit, please notify us at least 24 hours beforehand to avoid being charged for the scheduled time. Visits cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed because the client is unavailable, may be billed at the agreed rate. Ashbard will give as much notice as possible for any caregiver schedule change.

5. Fees and payment

Fees are quoted in writing before services begin and are detailed in the care plan. Invoices are issued on the agreed schedule (weekly or monthly) and are due within 7 days unless otherwise stated. Unpaid accounts more than 30 days overdue may result in services being paused until the balance is settled.

6. Client and family responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information about the client's health, medications and home environment, and to let our team know of any change that could affect the safety or delivery of care. A safe, respectful environment for our caregivers is required; visits may be declined or ended early if a caregiver's safety is at risk.

7. Caregiver conduct and privacy

All caregivers are background-checked, insured and supervised. They may not perform tasks outside the agreed care plan or outside their training. Caregivers do not administer medication unless the care plan expressly permits it and the task is within Alberta's regulated scope.

8. Limitation of liability

Ashbard takes reasonable care in selecting, training and supervising caregivers. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any single incident is limited to the fees paid for the visit during which the incident occurred. We are not liable for losses caused by events outside our control or by information you did not share with us.

9. Ending services

Either party may end the service agreement with 14 days' written notice. Ashbard may end services immediately where there is a serious risk to a caregiver or to the client, or where payment is more than 45 days overdue. Outstanding fees become payable on termination.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect will always be the one published on this page with its revision date. Continued use of services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
